About NICC Youth
The youth ministry of Noor Islamic Cultural Center — one team serving four campuses across Central Ohio.
Who we are
A second home for the next generation.
At Noor Islamic Cultural Center, we cultivate American Muslim youth who are rooted in faith, driven by knowledge, and committed to serving their community.
NICC Youth began with a simple observation: our young people needed more than a prayer hall. They needed a community that speaks their language. Today, across our campuses, teens and young adults find mentorship, friendship, and purpose.
Our programs nurture their spiritual, intellectual, and social growth through religious education, leadership development, service projects, and workshops. We also bring the community together with events like taking over the Chiller ice rink and our annual youth conference featuring local and nationally renowned speakers. Everything we build answers one question: does this help a young Muslim thrive, in their deen and in their life?

Faith first
Everything we do starts with Quran and Sunnah — taught in a way that makes sense for life in 2026.
Youth-led
Young people shape the calendar, lead the projects, and have a real seat at the table.
Safe & welcoming
Trained mentors, clear safeguarding, and zero tolerance for judgment or exclusion.
Service-minded
We believe faith is completed by serving our neighbors — across all of Central Ohio.
Meet the Team
Behind every program is a team committed to helping young Muslims grow in faith, confidence, service, and community.

Abdurrahman Justin Wood
Abdurrahman leads youth development and engagement across Noor Islamic Cultural Center’s campuses, overseeing programming, mentorship, leadership development, and pastoral support for youth and young adults.
His work centers on helping young Muslims develop a strong relationship with their faith, find meaningful community, and recognize that service and leadership begin now—not someday later.
Connect with AbdurrahmanShafiq Luden
Shafiq is the most tenured member of the NICC Youth team and has played an instrumental role in supporting many of the department’s staple programs over the years. With a background in business administration and finance, he brings practical leadership, discipline, and years of experience helping youth programming run effectively.
His service has included supporting MYImpact Conferences, monthly youth events, Ramadan security, and especially Noor All-Stars Basketball — a program he is deeply passionate about and has helped develop into a space for competition, brotherhood, mentoring, and meaningful reminders, both locally and nationally.
Shafiq brings to the team the perspective and steady leadership that come from years of showing up, serving, and helping programs grow.

Powered by our community
NICC Youth is bigger than the names you see above. Throughout the year, seasonal and hourly coordinators, mentors, coaches, program leads, and dedicated volunteers give their time and talents to make our programs possible.
From weekly gatherings and sports leagues to conferences, retreats, service projects, and special events, much of what we do is powered by community members who choose to show up for the next generation.
Their service allows us to reach more young people, create more opportunities, and build a youth culture rooted in Faith, Knowledge, and Service.
