Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: Reintroducing The MYImpact Committee at NICC Youth

Assalamu Alaikum,

Welcome to the first entry of the NICC Youth blog! I'm Abdurrahman Justin Wood, the Youth Director at the Noor Islamic Cultural Center (NICC), and I'm thrilled to reintroduce you to an initiative that is fundamental to our community’s growth – the MYImpact Committee.

What is the MYImpact Committee?

MYImpact is more than just another youth program; it's a youth leadership development platform. We aim to cultivate God-consciousness and moral integrity in our young participants while providing them with ample opportunities to explore their interests and grow holistically.

Our activities range from spiritually enriching lectures and qiyams to dynamic sports activities. We also host fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and the much-anticipated annual NICC Youth Conference.

The MYImpact Team

The MYImpact Committee is helmed by a passionate group of coordinators:

• I serve as the Youth Director
• Br. Shafiq Luden is the Brothers Youth Coordinator
• Sr. Sumaiyaa Akhtar is the Sisters Youth Coordinator
• Sr. Azra Narvel takes on the role of MYImpact youth leader

Upcoming Events and Important Dates

Please mark your calendars for our annual NICC Youth Conference March 1-3, 2024. This event promises to be both enlightening and engaging.

Also, don't miss out on our first monthly event—a bonfire scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2023. This social gathering is open to high school and college-aged youth.

Committee Expectations

To ensure a wholesome and respectful atmosphere for everyone involved, we've discussed a few fundamental expectations with our MYImpact youth, focusing on respectful engagement, time management, and dedication to personal growth.

Workshops and Skills Training

In the coming months, MYImpact participants can look forward to an array of workshops focused on leadership development, resume writing, and other aspects crucial for their professional lives.
